Independent certification — beyond self-declaration

Unlike self-declarations or manufacturer statements, this certification was performed as an independent third-party assessment.

  • Review of the Safety Requirements Specification (SRS)
  • Hardware assessment of the subsystem
  • Evaluation of reliability requirements, including quantified FIT-based data

All assessment activities and certification decisions were made independently by RISKNOWOGY, ensuring objectivity, technical rigour, and defensible results.

Certification outcome and applicability

Based on the independent assessment, the HIPPS-SSV subsystem is suitable for:

  • SIL 1 to SIL 2 safety functions
  • Deployment in safety-critical process and industrial environments
  • Use in projects requiring transparent, auditable reliability data

The certification supports global acceptance by operators, EPCs, insurers, and other stakeholders who rely on independent verification of functional safety claims.

Collaboration without compromising independence

Throughout the certification process, Risknowlogy worked closely with WENLEN’s engineering teams to understand system architecture, design intent, and application boundaries. At the same time, certification decisions remained fully independent and evidence-based.

Considering independent functional safety certification?

If you are evaluating IEC 61508 compliance, SIL capability, or independent certification for your own products or subsystems, Risknowlogy can support you with objective, globally accepted assessments.
