Risknowlogy Delivers Functional Safety Management Training at Finnish Transport Agency
Risknowlogy, in collaboration with Safety Advisor, delivered a Functional Safety Management training event for the Finnish Transport Agency (FTA) in Helsinki — bringing FSM expertise directly to 30 employees and consultants responsible for safety in the transport sector.
The Event
The two-day event was hosted at the Finnish Transport Agency's facilities in Helsinki on 17 and 18 May. The FTA invited 30 of its employees and external consultants to participate, recognising the need for structured functional safety competence across its organisation.
The training was adapted to the transport sector context, addressing how FSM principles apply in the FTA's operational environment and safety governance structure.
Format: In-person, two days. Location: Helsinki, Finland. Participants: 30 FTA employees and consultants.
Functional Safety in Transport Infrastructure
Functional safety requirements are not limited to the process industry. Transport infrastructure — including rail, road, and maritime systems — increasingly relies on electronic and programmable safety systems that must demonstrate safety integrity. FSM provides the framework to manage this systematically.
