BHDT high-pressure valve 1228310 (PC actuator, fast and slow closing variants) has been independently certified by Risknowlogy in accordance with IEC 61508:2010, confirming its suitability as a final element component in safety-related shutoff applications. The certificate, number 2628.664.12-0, is dated 1 October 2026 and expires on 1 October 2031.
Valve 1228310 is certified for a final element assembly built with a solenoid valve and a PC actuator, installed in two trains. Like valve 1228301, it is specified with two response variants: a fast variant closing in under 5 seconds and a slow variant closing in 20 to 30 seconds. Risknowlogy reviewed the PC actuator under hardware route 2H and systematic route 2S. At assembly level, certificate 2628.664.16-0 gives both variants SIL 1 at HFT = 0 and SIL 2 at HFT = 1, as with valve 1228301.
The assessment applied Risknowlogy's structured functional safety methodology, addressing hardware integrity, reliability, basic safety, functional safety management, and user documentation. It followed hardware compliance route 1H and systematic compliance route 1S. The BHDT design concept dates from 2009.
The valve is Type A hardware with systematic capability SC 2. It is fit for use up to SIL 1 in HFT = 0 and up to SIL 2 in HFT = 1, subject to correct system architecture and application constraints, in accordance with IEC 61508.
This certification covers the valve, not the safety function or system in which it is installed. End users, EPCs and system integrators remain responsible for correct design, installation, commissioning, validation, operation, proof testing and maintenance; modifications are subject to recertification.
The detailed certification basis, safety function, conditions of use, and end-user responsibilities are defined in the Risknowlogy certificate 2628.664.12-0 and the supporting certification report 2628.664.15.
