About the Role

As a Hazard and Risk Analysis (HRA) Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting client organizations in the implementation of hazard identification and risk assessment techniques that improve operational safety, ensure regulatory compliance, and embed robust process safety management (PSM) practices. You’ll lead or contribute to key studies such as HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If analyses, and provide expert guidance on integrating findings into client safety systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or support HAZOP, LOPA, What-If, and FMEA workshops for client facilities

  • Prepare pre-study materials, review P&IDs/PFDs, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams

  • Deliver clear, defensible HRA reports aligned with client and regulatory requirements

  • Support clients in implementing recommendations and improving risk controls

  • Align all deliverables with OSHA PSM, IEC 61511, and industry standards

  • Coach client personnel in risk assessment methods and tools

  • Ensure high-quality, on-time, and cost-effective delivery across projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the process industry with a focus on HRA and PSM

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA PSM, ISO 31000, IEC 61511

  • Experience in HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessment techniques

  • Prior client-facing or consulting experience is a plus

  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

Training & Development

  • HAZOP Leader Certification (IChemE or equivalent)

  • LOPA and SIL training

  • Internal onboarding on tools, templates, and client protocols

  • Ongoing CPD encouraged through industry events and certifications

Reporting & Evaluation

  • Weekly and per-project updates; monthly client engagement summaries

  • Evaluation based on technical delivery, client satisfaction, and quality outcomes
