BRUNSSUM, The Netherlands – – 2 February 2006 – – Risknowlogy®, a leading provider of risk, reliability, safety and certification solutions, announced today that it is the first course provider under the TÜV Functional Safety Program that will conduct the FSCC – Safety Instrumented Systems for Engineers course from 5-8 February 2007 in Paris, France.
The Risknowlogy Functional Safety Certification Courses (FSCC) were developed in cooperation with TÜV Rheinland Industrie Services GmbH, a division of the TÜV Rheinland Group, a global leader in independent testing and assessment services. The courses are titled Functional Safety Certification Course (FSCC) – Safety Instrumented Systems for Engineer and FSCC – Safety Instrumented Systems for Marketing & Sales.

Risknowlogy, in cooperation with Safir Engineering and Safety Users Group will organize the first course from 5-8 February 2007 in Paris, France. The first course is sold out with attendance from Air Liquide, DORIS Engineering, Iso Ingenierie, Litwin, Siemens, Safir, and Safety Users Group.
Participants wanting to register for trainings of the TUV Functional Safety Program must have a minimum of three to five years experience in the field of functional safety and a university degree or equivalent engineer-level responsibilities status certified by an employer. The training course is presented over four days. The first three days of instruction are taught in a classroom setting and will provide participants with practical examples of theoretical details, accident videos, and practical case studies for understanding and mastering the requirements of IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 on functional safety. On the last day, applicants must pass a two-part examination with a minimum score of 75 percent.
Certificates will be issued by TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH upon verification of eligibility and review of final exam documents. Successful participants will also receive a corresponding identification number and may use the “TÜV Functional Safety Engineer” logo on their business cards. The certificate is valid for five years. Successful candidates will be listed on the TUV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH website at www.tuvasi.com.
