Risknowlogy was able to provide this partnership by not only offering functional safety project management but also by acting as the intermediate between TUV SUD and SMAR. This was a win-win situation for all three companies involved.”
The last visit to the SMAR company took place in April 2009 where technical experts from Risknowlogy conclude in cooperation with TUV SUD the approval process for the TT400 HART SIS temperature and LD400 HART SIS pressure transmitters. Risknowlogy supported SMAR during the whole process including functional safety management which included among others the management of the safety plan, verification plan, safety requirements specification and testing.
TUV SUD certified the transmitters for SIL 2 (1oo1) and SIL 3 (1oo2) according to IEC 61508. After the safety concepts of both products had been approved and detailed testing was over TUV SUD found no objections and released the certification.
